About the Book :

Colours of India attempts an incisive look at contemporary India, its systems, its society and its people, laying bare the fault-lines running right across the fabric of the biggest democracy in the world. The stories are unusually engrossing as they give an intimate view of some of the distorted Governing Systems in India and how they impact the lives and aspirations of the people.

The stories also reflect how displacement and trauma destroy the entrenched psyche of the people, empowering them not only to take a penetrating look at the delineating factors but also to rebuild and redefine their lives.
The multicultural personal background of the author who is settled in Germany after spending twenty four long years at the top echelon of the Police service in India, has given a cross-cultural flavour to the stories making them interesting to all sections of readers.

The book will create an instant rapport with its readers because the author never loses touch with the heart of India, keeping it at the focal point in all her stories but managing to expose its ills with the expertise of a seasoned bureaucrat.
